Itinerary

Get comfort pickup at your hotel lobby at 9 AM and depart for Bac Giang province. On the way, enjoy outstanding beauty of the countryside in the northern of Vietnam. Get on a local ferry sailing along Cau River to Tho Ha Village. Walk around to visit local families, meet hospitable people and see their daily working life. You then discover the village through narrow and zigzag alleys with the old houses constructed from broken part of terracotta. Tho Ha is nowadays well-known for high-quality rice wine and rice paper. And recently, the village’s special brick walls have attracted many film producers, painters and photographers.

Have lunch in a local host and then move to a pottery family and workshop. Tho Ha pottery used to be fired with dry grass, firewood and coal. You will have an opportunity to see things remained from this traditional pottery producing village.

In the afternoon, visit Dong Ky wood carving village on the way back to Hanoi. Carpentry originally was a side hobby of villagers. However, poverty forced them to concentrate their skills on this occupation. The some 12,000 residents now prosper from their trade because of increasing demand of high-quality hand-carved furniture and crafts from hotels, restaurants and exporters. After that, continue heading back to Hanoi and arrive at your hotel at 4 PM.
